The Father's Heart Primary School Project - Kisumu, Kenya

In January 2009, we launched our first Father's Heart Primary School for children from Kindergarten to Grade 3. Currently, there are 60 children (70% capacity) attending this school. Some are the children from our Kisumu Child Sponsorship Project, and others are from the community our school is situated in.

Father's Heart Projects built the school, employs the teachers and cooks, and supplies the school material and books, uniforms for the children, and all the typical items required for the efficient operation of a school. We also provide two nourishing meals a day to each child attending the school, to assist them in achieving overall good health, and enabling them to focus on their education.

This school is operating on a “shoe-string budget,” as we provide for our current student’s Educational needs, while trying to raise additional funds to construct three more classrooms to accommodate the community’s needs for Grades 4 through 6 in this school.

Some of the financial expenses we incur in the launching of a Primary School Project are:

Start-up Investment: Including Land Acquisition, Classrooms, Kitchen & Washroom construction or renovations, purchasing of Desks & Chairs, Student Uniforms, Text Books, Teaching Aids, Blackboards, Play-Ground Equipment, and Water Hook-up.

Amount still required for our Kisumu Primary School Project: $20,000 CDN

Typical On-Going Monthly Expenses include Teacher’s and Cook’s Salaries, School Materials, Children’s Meals, Water & Electricity charges, and Transportation of the children to and from school.

Minimal Monthly requirement for our Kisumu Primary School Project: $3,000 CDN
